A Fresh Start
This spring, I was fortunate to work with an incredibly creative and personable designer and artist: Emily, from Big Blue Hat Studio. We discussed the feel and functionality I wanted for my website, and she exceeded my expectations. I love my website's whimsical nature, cheerful ambiance, and ease of navigation. It speaks to my personality and is the perfect place to showcase my novels, book trailers, and blog. I'm so excited about my new home on the internet that I'm kicking off my "open house" with a new book and two new book trailers. Let's begin with my new novel.
The 14th Tale comes from a screenplay I wrote in a graduate-level screenwriting class way back in the day. It's my oldest story and the perfect book to highlight during the launch of my new website. Did I mention that the story takes place in Ireland? (Check it out on the “books” page of this website.)
Second, The 14th Tale's accompanying trailer is the video representation of the book's prologue. We had such a fun time transforming the root cellar that my dad built long ago into the set of Saydee's magical workroom.
Thirdly, I've wanted to shoot a book trailer for Will-O'-the-Wisp Point since I released the book in 2019. We finally got it done. It's a prequel to the character, Rhue-wyn's backstory. As usual, I went out on a "creative" limb. The trailer (film short) highlights the book's centuries-old fairy. A big thanks to my incredible actors, production team, and everyone else who helped to make it so enchanting and beautiful to watch. I'd be remiss if I didn't give a big shout-out to Joseph Hiatt, my great-nephew, who did the camera work and the editing. What a talented young man! (For more details see my “Lights, Camera, Action! blog).
So, welcome to my new website. Please, take a look around, make yourself at home, and come back often for a visit.
